Proiectul vizează epurarea apelor uzate menajere pe baza tehnologiei cu nămol activat incluzând trepte de tratare mecano-biologică, tratarea nămolului prin stabilizarea anaerobă şi recuperarea energiei din gazul de fermentare prin intermediul blocului cogenerator.

In urma cu 15 ani nimeni nu visa ca in cinci orase si doua comune din judetul Olt se va putea aduce apa si canalizare si se vor reabilita retelele vechi de 100 de ani, si toate acestea cu bani europeni.

Slatina va avea o Staţie de epurare a apei care nu va mai polua, lucrările de reabilitare ale obiectivului fiind inspectate, vineri, de o comisie a Agenţiei de Dezvoltare Regională Sud-Vest Oltenia.
